Papon Mahanta, the voice of millions is an artist whose music transcends boundaries. Rooted deeply in Assam’s rich musical heritage he is the son of legendary Assamese musicians Khagen Mahanta, the “King of Bihu,” and Archana Mahanta. Growing up amidst melodies and rhythms, Papon has carved a unique niche by blending Assamese folk music with contemporary genres such as electronic, pop, and ambient sounds.
A multiple-award-winning artist, Papon’s Bollywood hits, including “Moh Moh Ke Dhaage”, “Bulleya”, and “Kaun Mera”, have established his position as one of India’s most beloved playback singers. His independent albums, such as “Jonaki Raati” and “Simplicity”, showcase his exceptional range and depth.
